The Board of Directors of Magpies Sporting Club are experienced and passionate, helping to guide Magpies Sporting Club into the future, alongside the professional Management team.
The current Board of Directors of Magpies Sporting Club Mackay are: Chairman – Paul O’Brien, Vice Chairman/Secretary – Ray Golding and Directors – Michael Langton, Carol Hodge, Jason Egan, Graham Perry and Jamie Woods
All of the Directors receive great enjoyment in watching Magpies Sporting Club grow, and are very proud of the solid community ties the club has within the Mackay region.
Paul became a member of Magpies in 1995 and it’s been in his blood ever since. His interest in sport led him to join the board in 1999, then chairman in 2003 and has now led to a lifelong attachment to Magpies. Paul gets great satisfaction in the amount of financial support Magpies gives to the community and affiliate clubs.
Jason has been involved with Magpies Sporting Club since 2000, and is enjoying his 5th year as Director of the Club. Jason draws on his experience as a business owner and his experience in the food industry to direct Magpies into a strong financial position and remain a step above it's competitors.
Ray saw the potential in Magpies Sporting Club early on, and was elected to the board in 2002. His extensive experience in Finance and Hospitality spanning more than 40 years has been vital in developing Magpies. Ray's proudest achievement to date is seeing the club develop, expand and become financially sound.
Mackay local Michael was elected to the board in 2005 after being on the Magpies junior soccer committee for several years, he brings over 20 years experience in retail management positions. Michael is proud to be a part of a club where everyone is made to feel welcome, and has the best facilities on offer.
Carol is a Magpies supporter through and through, having been involved with Magpies Sports Council and the dog obedience club. As a member of the board since 2006 she takes pride in being a part of the complete refurbishment of the club, and seeing the progress made with the sporting grounds.
Graham's strong background knowledge in the hospitality industry, plus 26 years of management experience, makes him a valuable asset to the board.
Graham enjoys being a director for one of the most progressive and receptive boards he has associated with.
Jamie has been a Magpie his entire life; he played Rugby League and Cricket for the pies, and most recently was employed as Sports Coordinator at Magpies Sporting Club for several years. His professional experience in banking, finance and sports administration complement the board of directors. Jamie became a director to help secure a sustainable long term future for the club: the staff, members and the sporting community.
